As we set off around 7:30 pm, our historian guide, Emily, regaled us with tales of London's most heinous crimes and supernatural occurrences. We began at the Tyburn Gallows, where I couldn't help but feel a sense of morbid curiosity as I gazed out at the bleak concrete where so many of the city's most notorious traitors and murderers had met their end. The eerie atmosphere was heightened by the sound of our footsteps echoing off the nearby buildings as we made our way to the gallows. The boat ride along the Thames was a particular highlight – I have to admit, I was more than a little nervous as we glided over the choppy waters, the moon casting an otherworldly glow over the dark waters. Was I imagining it, or did I see a shadowy figure flitting across the shore? Whatever it was, it was certainly unsettling. As the night drew to a close, we made our way to the Old St. Pancras Church, where infamous serial killer Dennis Nilsen had buried his victims in a hidden grave beneath the church floor. The atmosphere in the church was thick with foreboding – the flickering candles cast eerie shadows on the walls, and I couldn't shake the feeling that I was walking in the footsteps of a monster.Pros and Cons
